Women in Energy: Tia Crouse’s Story

As a Chemical Lab Technician at our Tufts Cove Generating Station, Tia works to make power for Nova Scotians.

Based on the demand for energy each day, Tia and her team manage the natural gas turbines, along with a waste heat recovery system that captures heat from exhaust streams and powers a steam turbine. It’s Tia’s job to test boiler water chemistry and run the water treatment plant—making sure the turbines and boilers run safely so that Nova Scotians have electricity when they need it, everyday.
